Atelier Alz and the duo Alexis & Vanessa are independent and multidisciplinary designers based in Montreal. Specialising in product design, their collaboration brings together their engagement with materials exploration through an artisanal lens. Their work is rooted in a pursuit of authenticity and a subtle interplay between form, function, and narrative.

Atelier Alz explores the expressiveness and delicacy of textiles within the quiet design trend, as seen in the Thalie lamp, where fabric is dipped in resin, giving its unique form and strength through gravity.

Alexis & Vanessa, by contrast, revisit traditional woodworking techniques, particularly the structural integrity of mortise-and-tenon joinery, as seen in the Brochette chair, where its expressive cantilevered mass is distinguished by its refined profile.

Their collaboration has resulted in the Ava side table, crafted from wood and textile, an elegant synthesis of their respective visions. The piece embodies a refined balance of lightness, tension, structure, and material poetry.
